SPEAKING TRUTH TO POWER

Mariann Edgar Budde (born December 10, 1959) is an Episcopal prelate who has served as Bishop of Washington since November 2011. Before being elected Washington’s first female diocesan bishop, she served 18 years as the rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Budde was consecrated as the ninth Bishop of Washington in the Washington National Cathedral on November 12, 2011, making her Washington’s first female diocesan bishop.

In June 2020, amid the George Floyd protests in Washington, DC, Budde criticized the use of tear gas by police and National Guard troops to clear the grounds of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Lafayette Square, to allow President Donald Trump to pose for a photo op in front of St. John’s Church, enabling its use “as a backdrop for a message antithetical to the teachings of Jesus.”

On January 21, 2025, one day after the second inauguration of Donald Trump, Budde delivered a sermon at Washington National Cathedral calling on President Trump to have mercy on LGBTQ+ communities, immigrants, and refugees fleeing from war in their countries. The service was attended by President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and members of their families.

Christians who believe that Jesus preached a message of love will soon be labelled WOKE as part of the anti woke propaganda being spread by the powers that be. Only a bloodthirsty Warrior Jesus found in Revelations will be tolerated, not the wussy “love one another” Jesus of the Gospels.
