Alice Weidel and the far right Alternative for Germany political party received 20% of votes in the German election today. One in five Germans chose to support a Marjorie Taylor Greene style female leader. The winning party, CDU, received 30% of the votes. The far-right across Europe are beside themselves with the strong showing of the AfD. It is the best they’ve done in Germany since Hitler was defeated more than 80 years ago. Elon Musk spent a considerable amount of time promoting them on X. 

The not a Nazi salute Nazi salute was not only meant for the MAGA faithful, but more so for the rising fascist movements spreading across Europe and the world. Even Marine Le Pen, the firebrand French leader refused to support Alice Weidel and the AfD. France knows what it feels like to be occupied by Nazis. It’s not pleasant. The young up and coming French far-right leader Jordan Bardella went as far as to cancel his appearance at CPAC because Steve Bannon made a ‘gesture referring to Nazi ideology’. 

Yet Elon and even JD Vance had zero qualms about supporting Alice. Vance chastised Europe and called them dictators for blocking the AfD from positions of power. Unlike in America, Nazi memorabilia and the Nazi salute are strictly banned. Although the AfD is not a pro-Nazi party as such, it is very similar to what has happened in Italy with Giorgia Meloni. 

She reinvented Mussolini’s fascist movement, and now rules Italy with a rod of iron. Pro-God and all of that. CHRISTOFASCISM in other words. With the imminent death of Pope Francis, a new more conservative leaning Pope will only strengthen Meloni’s grip on power. 

The tolerance of intolerance leads to the intolerance of tolerance.
