The REBEL ALLIANCE (known formally in-universe as the Alliance to Restore the Republic) is an organization that features in the fictional world of the Star Wars franchise. The Alliance is portrayed as a stateless coalition of rebel dissidents and defectors who oppose the Galactic Empire and its authoritarian rule.
Its stated goal is to restore the liberal governance of the previous Galactic Republic, which had been dissolved after its leader Palpatine seized absolute power and declared himself emperor. It is the main protagonistic faction of the original Star Wars trilogy.
While the Empire labels all dissenters and rebels as extremists and terrorists in Imperial propaganda, the Alliance is depicted and portrayed in various Star Wars media as a group of resilient freedom fighters, based on tolerance, self-empowerment, and hope for a better future using insurgency weapons and tactics.

SLAVA UKRAINI: – There’s been shock and dismay in Ukraine following Washington’s move to halt weapons supplies. For Ukraine, this amounts to the blocking of a major artery keeping it alive.
Ukrainians react to US aid pause: Oleksandr Merezhko, a Ukrainian member of parliament in President Zelensky’s party, says he is “shocked” at the news. He tells the BBC’s Newsday: “It’s unbelievable what’s unfolding because I couldn’t imagine in my worst dreams that Trump would be cutting off military aid to Ukraine when we need it so much.”
He says he thinks US President Donald Trump is trying to side-line Ukraine and Europe and make a deal with Russia.
“I think Mr Trump should seriously think about how he’s going to enter in history. “To me it’s a date that will go down in history infamy.”
‘Painful blow to our defence’: – Vitaliy Shevchenko.
“This is a catastrophe, and we saw it coming,” MP Oleksiy Honcharenko says. He argues, however, that “not all is lost” and Ukraine must “fight for peace, not capitulation”.
“Roosevelt and Churchill are turning in their graves. America has sided with the global evil,” activist and blogger Yuri Kasyanov says.
MP Volodymyr Aryev calls the move a “very painful blow to our defence”.

“President Trump is hanging Ukrainians out to dry and giving Russia the green light to keep marching west,” says one Ukrainian advocacy group.
America has stopped cyber warfare against Russia, threatened to replace Zelensky as President of Ukraine, and to top it all off, Musk called Z evil. Now they’ve canceled all military aid, punishment for Zelensky not bending the knee to Darth. This decision leaves Ukraine exposed and vulnerable to Russian attacks, something Trump understands, hence the reason he is doing it.
He wants them to suffer. He wants to teach them a lesson. No wonder Republicans are so afraid to speak up. Bullying, death threats, constant harassment, even from their own constituents. If 47 can do it so openly on the world stage, how then can members of the GOP resist without placing a target on their backs? Russia has hailed Donald Trump’s decision to cut aid to Ukraine, asserting that the withdrawal of arms ‘will probably be the best contribution to the cause of peace’.
‘It is obvious that the United States has been the main supplier of this war so far. If the United States stops being (an arms supplier) or suspends these supplies, it will probably be the best contribution to the cause of peace,’ Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today.
Peskov was cautious to accept the reports of a pause in U.S. aid and said the details needed to be seen.
‘If this is true, then this is a decision that can really encourage the Kyiv regime to (come to) the peace process,’ he said.
But the reports have already sparked fury in Ukraine, wider Europe and the United States, with critics accusing Trump of appeasement and warning ‘thousands will die’ as a result of the latest ‘shock’ twist in U.S. foreign policy.
Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Goncharenko told Sky News the ‘pause’ in aid would create a ‘catastrophic situation’ in Ukraine and ’embolden Putin’, making ‘things worse for everyone’.
‘I understand we have a crisis in relationships right now after Friday’s meeting in the Oval Office, but I just want to ask Donald Trump to reconsider… maybe just give us some time to get out of this because this is catastrophic for us,’ he said. -DM
UPDATE: President Zelensky said the following on X earlier today. – ‘Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right.’
‘None of us wants an endless war, Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer. Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians.
‘My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts.’
‘We are ready to work fast to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky — ban on missiles, long-ranged drones, bombs on energy and other civilian infrastructure — and truce in the sea immediately, if Russia will do the same.
‘Then we want to move very fast through all next stages and to work with the US to agree a strong final deal. ‘We do really value how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence. And we remember the moment when things changed when President Trump provided Ukraine with Javelins. We are grateful for this.’
‘We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive. Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it in any time and in any convenient format.
‘We see this agreement as a step toward greater security and solid security guarantees, and I truly hope it will work effectively.’
This is Zelensky apologizing after being forced into an impossible situation by Putin, Trump, and Vance. The injustice of it all is nauseating.
