At least 34 people have been killed, and more than a hundred injured due to a missile strike on the Ukrainian city of Sumy by Russian forces. The missile struck as people were milling around before going to church. In other words, a targeted attack on civilians by Putin on a sacred Christian holy day.
So let’s just say it straight. Fck you Tucker Carlson for accusing Ukraine of killing Christians when we all know it is Russia doing the killing. You are a small minded petty little shit. The propaganda you spread, along with JD Vance, causes irreparable harm and damage to people’s lives.
It is obvious that Putin is the aggressor and mass murderer in this tragic story. It’s not as if Zelensky launched a massive attack on Russia to set this spiral of indiscriminate violence in motion. Putin thought he would just walk into Kyiv and take the entire country. Thing is, the Ukrainians are tough as nails and unlike Donald Trump, they are not Putin’s btch, and neither do they ever wish to be.
War in Ukraine, war in Gaza, war in Yemen, potential war with Iran and China, so much for Trump’s peace on day one bullshit. Dealmaker my ass. Oh I almost forgot, war on the American economy. How’s the no tariffs on Russia gesture working out for you? Tariffs on penguins but not on Putin. What a loser.
UPDATE: 14/4 – President Donald Trump has issued an ominous new justification for his tariff hikes, saying more products need to be made in the United States so it is prepared in case of ‘war.’
Trump has sparked fears of a recession with his crackdown on foreign imports which is part of a campaign to ramp up domestic manufacturing and have more goods made in America.
In his latest explanation of the tariff policy he suggested it was necessary to deal with any future war. Trump made the comments on Air Force One on Sunday while talking about possible pharmaceutical tariffs.
He said: ‘We’re going to have our drugs made in the United States so that in case of war, in case of whatever, we’re not relying on China and various other countries, which is not a good idea.’
Trump put a 90-day pause on many of his on-again, off-again reciprocal tariffs but left in place a 145 per cent import tax on goods from China.
In response, Beijing suspended exports of certain rare earth minerals and magnets that are crucial for the world’s car, semiconductor and aerospace industries.
The move could impact American factories across the country, particularly in the auto industry. Many of the minerals make up components of a vehicle’s motor.
Trump’s top economic adviser said China’s action was ‘concerning.’
‘They’re concerning. And we’re thinking about all the options right now,’ Kevin Hassett said outside of the White House.
‘Rare earths are a part of lots of the economy. It’s a little bit of the value add to the US economy, but a crucial part of the value added.’
Until 2023, China produced 99 per cent of the world’s supply of heavy rare earth metals.
China also produces 90 percent of the world’s nearly 200,000 tons a year of rare earth magnets, which are far more powerful than conventional iron magnets.
‘The White House is concerned about China. Period,’ Hassett noted. – DM –
