IS IT REALLY A GOOD FRIDAY? Yay, yippee, woohoo, take that, smugness personified. A victory for women, seriously, is that what this is? Seems more like the crucifixion of a small group of people by a much larger group of self righteous bigots. I’m sure many will disagree with my take on the U.K. Supreme Courts decision to completely dismantle trans rights, but then again, that’s not my problem. I have a much bigger problem with those that are to blind to see what’s happening.
First they dismantled a woman’s right to choose, now women are celebrating because trans women are not trans women, they are men. And trans men are not trans men, they are women. The main drivers of the anti trans movement are women, JK Rowling being the queen bigot. She used her clout, money, and privilege to pretend she was standing up for women. What is even more disturbing is that many people in the gay community, particularly lesbians, supported this anti trans bs.
It’s in alphabetical order, but in reverse. LGBQT. First they will persecute trans people, then, they’ll come for gay people, bisexuals and queers. Why, because the Bible hates gay people, that’s why. Instead of standing together and resisting as one, each group is selfishly looking out for their own without regard to others.
The same thing happened during the suffragette era. White women didn’t want to stand up for the rights of black women, in case it made their own fight more complicated. Do gay people honestly believe they aren’t next? Or what about the immigrants that voted for Trump, and now their families are being torn apart. Black people voted for Trump, and now any trace of black excellence is being removed from the Pentagon and lumped under DEI. Same thing is happening to women in the military and across the government.
Of course there should be rules and regulations when it comes to trans people, as there are with abortion, driving under the influence, owning a gun, voting, and so much more. But to completely just nullify their existence is wrong. Have gay people conveniently forgotten that they were deemed mentally ill not so long ago. Their choices were deemed unnatural and many sent to camps to ‘heal’ them from their gayness. How is this different from a trans person choosing to follow their heart? It isn’t. As already mentioned in a previous post, of the more than 500 000 college athletes that competed in American sports last year, only 10, yes ten, were transgender.
Putin in Russia, Orban in Hungary, Meloni in Italy, Millei in Argentina and obviously the MAGA bigots under Trump will celebrate the U.K. Supreme Court ruling as an affirmation of their self righteous self loathing. Trans people don’t scare me, same as gay people and black people or immigrants don’t scare me. What really scares me is this bs parading as Christianity that has zero understanding of Christianity, particularly not of the most important commandment given by Jesus at the Last Supper, to Love One Another.
UPDATE 25/4 – Government cuts: The Trump administration is considering eliminating the 988 Suicide Prevention and Crisis Lifeline’s specialized services for LGBTQ+ youth as a way to cut back on funding for next year’s discretionary budget for mental health, according to an internal document reviewed by CNN.
