The dark triad is a psychological theory of personality that describes three notably offensive, but non-pathological personality types: Machiavellianism, sub-clinical narcissism, and sub-clinical psychopathy. Each of these personality types is called dark because each is considered to contain malevolent qualities.
All three dark triad traits are conceptually distinct although empirical evidence shows them to be overlapping. They are associated with a callous–manipulative interpersonal style.
Narcissism is characterized by grandiosity, pride, egotism, and a lack of empathy.
Machiavellianism is characterized by manipulativeness, indifference to morality, lack of empathy, and a calculated focus on self-interest.
Psychopathy is characterized by continuous antisocial behavior, impulsivity, selfishness, callous and unemotional traits and remorselessness.
Several researchers have suggested that sadism should be considered a fourth dark trait. While sadism is highly correlated with the dark triad, sadism predicts anti-social behavior beyond the dark triad. Sadism shares common characteristics with psychopathy and antisocial behavior (lack of empathy, readiness for emotional involvement, inflicting suffering), but sadism distinctively predicts unprovoked aggression separate from psychopathy.
Harmful behavior against living creatures, brutal and destructive amoral dispositions, and criminal recidivism are additionally more prominently predicted by sadism than psychopathic traits.
Studies on how sadists gain pleasure from cruelty to subjects were applied towards testing people who possessed dark triad traits. Results showed that only people exhibiting traits of sadism derived a sense of pleasure from acts of cruelty, concluding that sadism encompasses distinctly cruel traits not covered by the rest of the dark triad, therefore deserving of its position within the dark tetrad. – Wiki –
WHAT IS EVIL? I’ve been asking myself this question the closer we get to the ‘valley of the shadow of death’. Is evil an external force represented by the devil or demons, or is evil an internal force each and every person battles against on a daily basis. Is the problem of evil a mixture of the two, internal and external? Religion teaches us that good and evil are two forces expressed as God and Satan, heaven and hell, right and wrong, saint and sinner. Now it gets even more complicated, what is sin? Is being gay a sin? Is taking the Lord’s name in vain a sin? Or is murder, rape, armed robbery, and similar crimes not only a sin, but also evil?
Who gets to decide what should be classified as sin, and what shouldn’t, Mike Johnson? Stripping people of their health benefits and giving tax breaks to billionaires is good, not bad. Rounding up immigrants, housing them in concentration camps and then sending them to countries that are not their homeland, is good, not bad. Funding and supporting a regime that murders tens of thousands of women and children, is viewed as good, not bad.
Lying that a free and fair election was stolen, and then in turn stealing a not so free or fair election is good, not bad. Meeting a president of a country under heavy aerial bombardment, promising to send them air defense missiles to protect themselves, and then reneging on the promise a few days later, is America First good, not bad. Cutting the funding for Aid which will cost the lives of millions of the poorest and most marginalized is good, not bad.
If you ask me, I’m tempted to say that good is evil, right is wrong, and that the God they worship is in fact, the Devil. When does doing wrong reach the point of being classified as pure evil? From what I’ve gathered, it is when pleasure is derived from causing others pain and suffering. The enjoyment derived from hurting another, for example Laura Loomer joking about hungry alligators.

People have commented that there are 65 million Latinos in America. Or what about when she joked about the Christchurch mass killing of Muslims, or the drowning of immigrants off the coast of Italy? Trump is an expert at humiliating and insulting people, friend and foe alike. The MAGA base love him for his crass behavior as they just want to own the libs, yet if the stupid bill passes, Red States will suffer the most.
We are on the cusp of a truly horrible era overseen by sadists and psychopaths. The darkness descending over the world is frightening, similar to the Nothing from Neverending Story devouring everything good in its path. How I wish it wasn’t so, unfortunately it is, and the sooner when get to grips with this truth, the sooner we can find the inner resources necessary to fight back, and to fight back heart.
