THE FIVE SENSES, OR IS IT SIX?

October 31, 2024

Touch, taste, sound, smell and sight. We use our five senses to navigate the physical world, but what do we use to navigate the spiritual world? Mystics and sages throughout the ages have spoken of the inner eye, aka, the Third Eye.

The third eye concept includes clairsentience – the ability to perceive/feel energy that is imperceptible to the five senses. Clairvoyance – to see things beyond the senses. Clairaudience – a form of extra-sensory perception that can hear things beyond the normal range of sound – interdimensional hearing.

It is important to distinguish between a person that hears voices or hallucinates due to a psychotic breakdown or from schizophrenia, and what is known as a mystic medium.

Drug induced visions from hard core chemicals are also very different from visionary experiences achieved through meditation, fasting, prayer, trauma, sexuality, or ritualised plant medicine journeys.

The five sense can only take us so far on our quest for understanding. The same applies to reason and the intellect. Just because a person has not had an extra sensory experience, does not mean such experiences do not exist. Superstitious bs should not be confused with spirituality and the sacred, they are two very different things.
