BLOOD MOON SHUTDOWN

March 11, 2025

Friday the 14th just might become the new Friday the 13th. Full blood moon total lunar eclipse in the Americas. The House under leadership of Mike Johnson needs to find a solution to keep the government funded beyond Friday the 14th, today is the 11th. It will be fascinating to see if Democrats will support Republicans even if the GOP is dismantling the very government they are desperately trying to fund. It will be radical to allow a shutdown to play out, the question is, is radical exactly what is required to stop the madness, or at least slow it down.

UPDATE: House Republicans managed to pass the stop gap bill, 217-213. Only one Democrat voted in favor. Now it is all up to the Senate. The GOP requires seven Democrats to help them get to 60 votes. Grassroots liberals do not want them to support the bill, as they believe this is the only chance they have to pushback against the out of control DOGE. There are pros and cons. I know what I would do.

As soon as this process is completed, they’ll move on to the promised tax cuts for the super wealthy, skewing the game even further towards the extreme right. If they go low, go straight for the jugular. Trump threatened to use this exact playbook over and over again during the previous administration. Mitch McConnell refused to allow Obama to nominate a justice for the Supreme Court, yet changed his tune when Trump chose Amy Coney Barrett. Guess what happened next, they overturned 50 years of abortion rights. Stop respecting the Constitution, and start protecting it.

To add extra impetus to the whole drama, a massive rally is being organised by the Fourteenth Now Movement. You can check out their website or read the description below. Things might be coming to a head sooner than expected. If, and that’s a big IF, people turn up, how will 47 choose to deal with the protesters. Violence is being discouraged, not encouraged, but what happens when groups like the Proud Boys show up looking for a fight? Interesting times ahead.

FOURTEENTH NOW:

The United States is under siege from within — hijacked by an illegitimate president and administration and protected by a system unwilling to uphold our constitutional safeguards. The system refuses to act. Now, the people must.

#14thNOW, the historic movement that stood in the breach to stop this authoritarian coup before it started, extends this movement to ALL, calling for immediate action against the destruction of our democracy on March 14th with #NowDC.

If you are a veteran, this movement is for you. If you stand with Ukraine and the Free World, this movement is for you. If you are a federal worker, this movement is for you. If you don’t want to lose Social Security, this movement is for you. If you were deprived of your vote in 2024, this movement is for you. If you’ve changed your mind since the election, this movement is for you. If you don’t want to lose your rights, your safety, your freedom, and your country, this movement is for you.

#NowDC is for everyone. On March 14, 2025, We the People will change the course of history.

Why March 14 (3.14)? March 14 (3.14) is more than a date — it is a symbol, it is a statement, and it is a sign of our story.

3.14 represents Section 3 of the 14th Amendment — the Constitution demands that those who engage in insurrection be barred from office.

3.14 represents the power of the circle — the universal symbol of infinity, continuity, and unbreakability. Just as a circle has no weak or unequal points, this movement will have no breaks, no fractures, no surrender.

On March 14, we peacefully flood Washington, D.C., encircling the institutions of power, demanding action, and making our presence undeniable. We will convene at noon on the National Mall between 4th and 6th Streets N.W. Please see the Resources page for more information. March 14 has also been designated as a National Strike Day. We encourage workers from around the country to join us in DC.

Fourteenth Now! is a peaceful movement.
Violence of any kind is not tolerated.

14th Amendment. Section 3.

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
