Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday that Israel was ‘changing the face of the world’ in its war with Iran, now in its seventh day. ‘I said that we’re changing the face of the Middle East, and now I say we’re changing the face of the world.’
We’ve become so used to seeing the destruction in Gaza, that it’s rather shocking to see the images coming out of Israel. The October 7 attack was devastating, but it was restricted to a small part of Israel. The people in the far north have experienced attacks from Hezbollah in Lebanon, but the people in Tel Aviv and Haifa have never experienced anything remotely as frightening as the Iranian attacks.
Even last year when the two countries engaged twice, Iran was very reserved. They telegraphed their intentions in order to give Israel and its partners ample time to prepare. It was more for show than anything else, this time it’s the real deal. And even more concerning, Iran is still holding back, even after everything Israel has done over the past week.
If the Iron Dome is so susceptible to being penetrated, as you can see from the images, what happens when a full scale war breaks out? What happens when Iran throws caution to the wind and unleashes hell on Israeli cities? Even worse, what happens if Russia and China decide to join the fight, or Turkey and Pakistan?
Why purposely expose your people to such grave danger? Diplomacy is and will always be the answer to lasting peace. War based on misinterpretation of biblical scripture and prophecy is just outright madness. Not of the divine kind. If Israel can’t protect its people, maybe Netanyahu shouldn’t be in charge.
They keep calling for regime change in Iran, yet it seems that it is Israel that needs regime change. They are now openly threatening to assassinate the Ayatollah, the worst idea possible. Ok maybe on par with dragging America into this mess. Everyone should just chill the fck out and take a minute. May cool heads prevail.
I have tried my best to authenticate the photographs and to make sure they are from this specific war, and taken in Israel itself. No images of Iran has been included in the batch, not because I don’t feel for them, rather because I’m highlighting Israel’s susceptibility to attack. This is a dangerous game they are playing. The consequences could end up being enormous. Worst of all, the escalating conflict is based on yet another lie. The people of Israel deserve better, as do the Palestinians and the greater region. The current regime, in cahoots with America is bad for the planet and peace.
