Pope Clement Xll banned all Catholics from becoming Freemasons in 1738 by publishing the papal bull; In emineti apostolatus. 50 years later, Masons were blamed for orchestrating the French Revolution as part of a Catholic propaganda campaign that is still ongoing today. 

Protestants were much more accepting of Masons and allowed church members to belong to the organisation. It has only been since the 1950’s and even more recently, the 90’s, that Protestants have tried to distance themselves from the Craft. 

Now the question is, why are Freemasons such a problem for the church? An even better question to ask, why did Hitler and the Nazis, Mussolini and the fascists, General Franco in Spain, and the Soviets, ban, hunt, torture and kill hundreds of thousands of Freemasons leading up to World War ll and beyond? 

They confiscated their books, destroyed their Lodges, and connected Freemasons to the Jewish religion by promoting the Judeo-Masonic conspiracy theory. Hitler in particular played a massive role in blackening their name and linking them to some nebulous conspiracy that wanted to control the world. The supposed New World Order and Illuminati, a powerful Cabal hell bent on destroying humanity at the behest of Satanic forces.

Does the Church fear Masons because they discovered the hidden mysteries of science found in the Bible? Secrets passed down from the Knights Templar to the Rosicrucians and finally the Freemasons. Secrets that reveal that the Gods worshipped in Judaism, Christianity and Islam are in fact One. People are distracted by conspiracy theories from asking the right questions, merely repeating what they’ve heard or read on the internet without providing any proof to back up their ‘theories’. 

QAnon is the perfect modern example of this strategy. Focus on child sex abuse without focussing on the rampant abuse that have occurred for decades, if not centuries in the Catholic, Anglican, Southern Baptist, and multiple other churches. Church Fathers have tried to hide the extent, blamed victims, orchestrated smear campaigns, and generally acted like the evil they claim to oppose. I refer to this as the Qhrist Conspiracy and agree with Pope Clement’s motto, learn to DISTINGUISH BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL.
