The FBI (Kash Patel and Dan Bongino) has launched criminal probes into the former heads of both the CIA and FBI after they investigated Donald Trump’s links to Russia in the 2016 election. Former CIA director John Brennan and former FBI Director James Comey are at the center of the probe, as authorities explore whether they made false statements to Congress, Fox News reported.
President Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukraine has been hit by the biggest ever aerial attack from Russia, after 728 drones and 13 cruise or ballistic missiles struck cities around the country in multiple waves. The overnight strike came after President Donald Trump said the US would send more weapons to Kyiv – a reversal of last week’s suspension which US media said Trump had not known about.
The two leaders have been in regular contact but this has so far failed to translate into tangible steps towards a ceasefire in Ukraine – something Trump once said he would be able to achieve in a day. Last week, following a phone call with the Russian president, Trump said he was “very unhappy”.
“He wants to go all the way, just keep killing people, it’s no good,” Trump said of Putin.
“We get a lot of bullshit thrown at us by Putin, if you want to know the truth,” Trump told reporters. “He’s very nice to us all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless.”
The criticism came even as the Trump administration announced a suspension of military aid to Ukraine, reportedly authorised by US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth and Elbridge Colby, the under-secretary of defence for policy. Asked by reporters on Tuesday who had taken the decision, Trump – sitting right next to Hegseth – replied: “I don’t know. Why don’t you tell me?” – BBC.
THE NOT SO PRESENT PRESIDENT: If Trump managed to establish equitable peace in Ukraine, then by all means give him the Nobel Peace Prize. It is now almost six months since Trump took over, and up to this point, he hasn’t even applied sanctions on Russia. He stormed out of the G7 meeting after scolding the other members for suspending Russia, and now he is trying to take the heat off the Epstein scandal by investigating the investigators.
I’m not going to dig into Russian interference in the 2016 election now, apart from saying Russian definitely interfered. Russian troll factories and bot farms are a much bigger problem than people think. As we go deeper into the Epstein scandal, I’ll address the very problematic scenario of psy-ops, psychological campaigns to target voters. That’s why we must have compassion for the MAGA base. They’ve been manipulated beyond belief. By the churches, social media, FOX, the GOP and Trump.
But why, what is the endgame? Obviously to gain power, but why is Trump allowing Putin to ‘bullshit’ him? How can Pete Hegseth and Eldridge Colby stop weapon supplies to Ukraine without informing Trump? If America First means no support for Ukraine, then explain why America First supplies Israel with tons of weapons? Ukraine can’t defend themselves, something Putin exploits to the max. Russia is busy amassing tens of thousands of troops in the Northeast as they prepare for a summer offensive. The ground is hard now, the perfect conditions to launch yet another attack on a sovereign nation. Wave after wave after wave, and yet America suspends weapons shipments. I mean seriously, what the fuck is wrong with these people?
Does Putin get to keep Ukraine if Israel and America can keep Gaza and the West Bank, is that the deal? Putin has rebuffed any and all diplomatic means to reach a ceasefire. He has to win, even though there has been more than a million Russian casualties. Putin will just throw more young men into the teeth of the meat grinder, an endless stream of fodder to feed his ego. If you think Trump is insane, Putin trumps even Trump.
Only two options exist. Putin owns Trump the same way Israel owns him, or, he is scared of Putin. Nobody is suggesting going to war with Russia, but at the very least help Ukraine help themselves. Apply diplomatic pressure, apply economic pressure, supply weapons, but for God’s sake, stop twiddling your thumbs while the brave people of Ukraine are being murdered in their sleep.
