ANCIENT THEOLOGY. A key principle in Rosicrucian beliefs, prisca theologia is described as a single, true theology given to humanity by God in ancient times. It is not restricted to one particular religion or culture, but threads through all religions. 

‘There is one principle of all things, of which there has always been one and the same knowledge among all peoples.’ Agostino Steuco 1497-1548. 

Renaissance philosophers like Marsillio Ficino and Giovanni Pico della Mirandola, embarked on a quest to reform the teachings of the Catholic Church by showing the unity of diverse faiths. From Neoplatonism and Hermeticism, to the Chaldean Oracles, Sufism, Kabbalah, Zoroastrianism, Stoicism, Pythagorean, and Egyptian beliefs. 

Instead of viewing the Bible as the only book of value, it was seen as the latest in a long line of teachings handed down from the dawn of time. Moses and Hermes Trismegistus were not in competition, but rather record keepers of sacred knowledge. And both were connected to Thoth, the Egyptian god of wisdom. 

This principle can also be observed in Freemasonry, the acknowledgment that the God of the Bible is the same God found in other religions. Their unpopularity ultimately stems from this teaching, refusing to place the Christian God above other Gods. Why do you think ‘God’ is referred to as Divine Providence or the Great Architect? This is done on purpose in order to make space for other cultures and religions. 

Only when we fully comprehend the role sacred geometry, numbers, and astronomy play in the Bible can we integrate this truth. Understanding these subjects assists us in reclaiming the Bible from the priestcraft. For two thousand years we have been told what to believe, a process that has done more harm than good. 

Maybe it is time to stop believing people that are ignorant of, and that misinterpret the true meaning of the symbols, myths and teachings found in the Bible.
