THE FOUNDATION STONE: According to tradition, King Solomon’s Temple containing the Holy of Holies was built directly on top of the Foundation Stone. The stone was the resting place of the Ark of the Covenant. Today, the Dome of the Rock occupies this space, and has since the 7th century. 

A secret cave can be found under the stone and the light pictured in the image contains the pentagram, the most sacred of all symbols. We have already looked at the pentagram found in Dome of the Chain directly next to the Dome of the Rock. 

The most common symbol associated with Islam is the crescent moon and five pointed star. This arrangement can be found in the night sky and represents the moon and planet Venus.
