THE GOAT OF MAMMON

IN TRUMP WE TRUST: Someone decided it was a great idea to make a golden hoofed goat covered in $100 bills with Donald Trumps face on it. The words IN GOD WE TRUST, have been replaced with In Trump We Trust. The goat has a pair of golden gonads and can be found at Mar-a-Lago. Although the idea surrounding the GOAT can be interpreted as greatest of all time, replacing the words In God We Trust with Trumps name is rather problematic on multiple levels.

The Ten Commandments Exodus 20.

20 And God spoke all these words:

2 “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.

3 “You shall have no other gods before me.

4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God.

Why Are Goats Associated With Satan?

Aside from the inverted pentagram (an upside-down star), the goat is one of the most prominent symbols associated with satanism. Part of this stems from its occult ties, such as the goat-like form of the occult deity Baphomet, while some other satanic associations come from Jewish and Christian scriptures.

Baphomet, an occult deity, is part goat and part man. It’s become one of the primary symbols used by the modern Church of Satan.
In ancient Jewish tradition, a goat would be chosen to symbolize everyone’s sin. This goat would then be exiled to the wilderness.

Demonologists in early modern times often imagined Satan as manifesting himself as a goat or satyr, because goats had a reputation for lustful behavior and were used in the iconography of pre-Christian gods like Pan and the goat of Mendes. The occultist Eliphas Levi in his Dogme et Rituel de la Haute Magie (1855) drew an image of the fictitious medieval idol Baphomet that conflated it with the goat of Mendes and the imagery of the Satanic satyr.
