It’s all based on merit, a mantra, MAGA, DOGE, and the far righteous use to justify their behaviour towards DEI, Affirmative Action, Social benefits, USAID, and other policies. No free lunch or something stupid like that. Of course we all need to work for our achievements, I don’t argue with that.
Yet at the same time, it is important to acknowledge that certain groups, whether it being women, African Americans, immigrants, members of the LGQBT community, religious and ethnic minorities, have historically been sidelined in favor of predominantly white men.
So now that the world is changing, these insecure white men are clinging onto power by claiming they are the victims, not the historical tyrants. This is not an attack on white men, as I am a white man, therefore I understand their unjustified fears and insecurities better than most non white people. I’m merely pointing out the hypocrisy. If competence is the name of the game, then please explain to me what happened to 400kg of enriched Uranium?
Trump has been doing a non stop victory lap, and even called Netanyahu the greatest warrior in Israel’s long and illustrious history of great warriors. Some statement.
Anyway, earlier today the Defence Minister of Isreal not only admitted that they don’t know where the goods are, but also admitted that 50 Iranian missiles penetrated the much vaunted Iron Dome.
SO MANY UNANSWERED QUESTIONS: Maxar technologies published images of dozens of trucks outside the Fordow nuclear mountain on Thursday and Friday. Trump bombed the mountain on Saturday night. When confronted with the missing Uranium, Trump said Israel knows exactly where it is, yet they don’t. If Israel had complete control of the skies then why didn’t they bomb the convoy?
They killed loads of scientists and other people, yet failed to eliminate the biggest threat. Reports suggest that Iran had intel that Trump was going strike, even though he said he’d take two weeks to decide.
Did Putin warn them, how did they know? More importantly, did Trump’s failure to act sooner allow them the time to reactor. Nuclear humour. Israel waited and waited for America to join the fight and then the moment passed. It was too little too late.
Iran’s Foreign Minister has already met with Putin, and the Defence Minister attended a conference of regional Defence Ministers in China two days ago.
Trump is even saying that no agreement is necessary, and is playing all nice nice with Iran. China can buy your oil no problem, we will release billions of dollars stuck in banks because of sanctions, something he criticised Obama for doing. And worst of all, Trump even said that the war will probably resume at some point in the future, just not on his watch. Whoaa say that again.
PANDORA, QUEEN OF HORNETS: Why throw a big fat brick into a hornet’s nest if you are unwilling to get stung? To pretend that America and Israel are the world’s greatest and most competent fighting force is just not true. (Vietnam-Iraq-Afghanistan-Gaza-Lebanon) Shock and awe yes, but the mess left behind is the main sticking point. It all looks good on paper, but in the real world, Iran has not been defeated, not even close. If Trump thinks he should get a prize for participation, he is gravely mistaken. Not only does he want a prize, he wants first, second, and third prize.
The reason the past few days have been the opposite of a victory parade, is because it wasn’t a victory, but an abject failure. They’ve made the situation worse, not better. Netanyahu failed to convince Trump to start a full blown war/act sooner, and now this lack of follow through will come back to haunt the world.
Trump and Netanyahu took a gamble and it backfire, badly. If only it was a game and not real life, but it isn’t. The consequences of their actions will have enormous repercussions, and what annoys me the most is their total lack of self awareness. They are the opposite of competence, and to now portray themselves as having saved the world from nuclear obliteration is just bullshit. If anything, their little misadventure has made it more likely.
PARTICIPATION TROPHIES: Critics argue that such trophies promote narcissism and an entitlement mentality among recipients, and are based on incorrect assumptions regarding supposed psychological benefits of self-esteem.
Critics also note that some children do not value them as much as they do trophies given only to winners. A backlash against participation trophies intensified in the 1990s.
Participation trophies do not allow children to learn from failures; losing enables them to learn a lesson from their loss, such as that losing is a part of life. – Wiki –
And now we get to the meat. Some, ok, a lot of white men, can’t stand the fact that women and people from other cultures, religions, and ethnicities can do as good of a job as they can, if not better. I’ll further expand on this in a follow up post about the blind spot of scientific racism and poor White Afrikaners in South Africa and the Deep South in America. It is time to drive a stake through the heart of the fallacy embodied by Eurocentric white supremacist ideology.
THE EMPEROR IS NOT WEARING ANY CLOTHES
UPDATE SUNDAY 29 June: Iran has the capacity to start enriching uranium again – for a possible bomb – in “a matter of months”, the head of the UN’s nuclear watchdog has said. Rafael Grossi, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), said the US strikes on three Iranian sites last weekend had caused severe but “not total” damage, contradicting Donald Trump’s claim that Iran’s nuclear facilities were “totally obliterated”.
“Frankly speaking, one cannot claim that everything has disappeared and there is nothing there,” Grossi said on Saturday.
Israel attacked nuclear and military sites in Iran on 13 June, claiming Iran was close to building a nuclear weapon. Under a 2015 nuclear deal with world powers, Iran was not permitted to enrich uranium above 3.67% purity – the level required for fuel for commercial nuclear power plants – and was not allowed to carry out any enrichment at its Fordo plant for 15 years.
However, Trump abandoned the agreement during his first term in 2018, saying it did too little to stop a pathway to a bomb, and reinstated US sanctions. Iran retaliated by increasingly breaching the restrictions – particularly those relating to enrichment. It resumed enrichment at Fordo in 2021 and had amassed enough 60%-enriched uranium to potentially make nine nuclear bombs, according to the IAEA. BBC
