BLACK LIE PROPAGANDA: Donald Trump’s relentless attack on the free press and free speech is reaching a disturbing climax. First he banned certain news agencies from the White House press briefings. Then he restricted access of the press corps, only allowing Trump friendly media to travel on Air Force One. He has gone out of his way to target CNN, journalists from MSNBC, and even sued 60 minutes.
Only allow positive ego pleasing news, ban anything deemed subversive, negative, or factual. Only report on real world events from a totally subjective and regime affirming perspective. In a nutshell – fuck the truth.
Spin, spin some more, and then spin even more until it becomes impossible to discern between what is real and what is not.
This is a well trodden path in countries like Hungary, Russia, China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and was used during Apartheid South Africa, in Soviet Russia, Fascist Italy, and Hitler’s Third Reich.
Stop the press from reporting on the news by claiming they are spreading propaganda, when in fact it is the other way around. Fake News has become the rallying cry of the far-righteous. Every time their behavior is highlighted, the news is deemed unpatriotic, UnAmerican, treasonous, and in need of censorship. They complain about free speech being restricted, yet restrict free speech.
In some countries the internet and social media are heavily controlled, making it almost impossible for people to discover the truth.
Misinformation, disinformation and hate speech obviously needs to be managed, people can’t just spread ‘fake news’ without real world consequences. There is a fine line between what is deemed free, and hate speech. The truth is not supposed to be labeled as fake, and fake news certainly isn’t the truth. Critical reporting is not fake news when it exposes lies and deceit, it is merely portraying objective reality.
Journalists are more often than not protected when covering war zones and other conflicts. Israel’s war on Gaza has been more deadly to journalists than any previous war. They banned Al Jazeera, have killed hundreds of journalists, bombed and destroyed countless media facilities and heavily restricted the truth about numerous atrocities from emerging.
Yet America arrests a student for protesting at a University in New York, while completely turning a blind eye to what is transpiring in Palestine. This is not just on Trump, Biden was as selective about who actually deserves human rights. He was very outspoken in America about BLM, women’s rights, even trans rights, yet kept quiet about Gaza. Why? Are Muslim women and children less human, do the elderly not have any rights, never mind young people?
Trump moves to close down VOICE OF AMERICA: US President Donald Trump has signed an order to strip back federally funded news organisation Voice of America, accusing it of being “anti-Trump” and “radical”.
A White House statement said the order would “ensure taxpayers are no longer on the hook for radical propaganda”, and included quotes from politicians and right-wing media criticising the broadcaster.
VOA, still primarily a radio service, was set up during World War Two to counter Nazi propaganda. It says it currently reaches hundreds of millions of people globally each week.
Mike Abramowitz, VOA’s director, said he and virtually his entire staff of 1,300 people had been put on paid leave.
Abramowitz said that the order left VOA unable to carry out its “vital mission… especially critical today, when America’s adversaries, like Iran, China, and Russia, are sinking billions of dollars into creating false narratives to discredit the United States”.
The National Press Club, a leading representative group for US journalists, said the order “undermines America’s long-standing commitment to a free and independent press”.
It added: “If an entire newsroom can be sidelined overnight, what does that say about the state of press freedom?
“An entire institution is being dismantled piece by piece. This isn’t just a staffing decision – it’s a fundamental shift that endangers the future of independent journalism at VOA. –

BLACK PROPAGANDA: The major characteristic of black propaganda is that the audience are not aware that someone is influencing them, and do not feel that they are being pushed in a certain direction. Black propaganda purports to emanate from a source other than the true source.
This type of propaganda is associated with covert psychological operations. Sometimes the source is concealed or credited to a false authority and spreads lies, fabrications, and deceptions. Black propaganda is the “big lie”, including all types of creative deceit.

Fascist regimes are generally supported by ‘independent’ journalists, reporters, and social media influencers that help them muddy the waters. Think Steve Bannon, Alex Jones, Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, Andrew Tate, Russel Brand, Jordan Peterson and and and.
Elon Musk can communicate with 200 million people at once by sending a tweet. He can lie, twist, promote, instigate, incite, and mock without any pushback. He owns X, the most powerful tool in the social media jungle, making him the undisputed king of flooding the zone with shit.
The worst is of course entire media corporations that are dedicated to destroying the fabric of society. Trump won’t target Fox News because they parrot all the most important talking points. As with every fascist regime, things can change in a flash. Here today gone tomorrow. Fear keeps many corporations and individuals in line. Don’t upset the baas.
Donald Trump can stand in front of the podium of podiums and just flat out lie, repeatedly, over and over ad nauseam. Tens of thousands of lies that are so insidious and malicious that it literally destroys the very fabric of reality.

UPDATE – DIRTY RAG: 18/3 Chinese state media has welcomed Donald Trump’s move to cut public funding for news outlets Voice of America and Radio Free Asia, which have long reported on authoritarian regimes. The decison affects thousands of employees – some 1,300 staff have been put on paid leave at Voice Of America (VOA) alone since Friday’s executive order.
Critics have called the move a setback for democracy but Beijing’s state newspaper Global Times denounced VOA for its “appalling track record” in reporting on China and said it has “now been discarded by its own government like a dirty rag”.
The White House defended the move, saying it will “ensure that taxpayers are no longer on the hook for radical propaganda”.
Trump’s cuts target the US Agency for Global Media (USAGM), which is supported by Congress and funds the affected news outlets, such as VOA, Radio Free Asia (RFA) and Radio Free Europe.
They have won acclaim and international recognition for their reporting in places where press freedom is severely curtailed or non-existent, from China and Cambodia to Russia and North Korea. Although authorities in some of these countries block the broadcasts – VOA, for instance, is banned in China – people can listen to them on shortwave radio, or get around the restrictions via VPNs.
RFA has often reported on the crackdown on human rights in Cambodia, whose former authoritarian ruler Hun Sen has hailed the cuts as a “big contribution to eliminating fake news”. It was also among the first news outlets to report on China’s network of detention centres in Xinjiang, where the authorities are accused of locking up hundreds of thousands of Uyghur Muslims without trial. Beijing denies the claims, saying people willingly attend “re-education camps” which combat “terrorism and religious extremism”. VOA’s reporting on North Korean defectors and the Chinese Communist Party’s alleged cover-up of Covid fatalities has won awards.

Trump Predicts ‘Enemy of the People’ CNN, MSNBC Will Be ‘Turned Off’ in Oval Office Tirade Against the ‘Fake News’
President Donald Trump went on a tear against multiple media outlets he accused of completely fabricating stories while predicting that both CNN and MSNBC will be “turned off” on Friday. Trump spoke from the White House on Friday with Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and announced that the Air Force is moving forward with a new F-47 jet. The president was also asked about a New York Times report published the day prior that claimed Elon Musk was going to be briefed by Pentagon officials on plans for a potential war with China. The report cited two U.S. officials.
Hegseth said Musk did meet with Pentagon officials on Friday, but it was to discuss his work with DOGE and there was no discussion of any war plans. Trump also noted Musk’s business connections to China and said Musk “wouldn’t want to put himself in that position.” Trump had refuted the story earlier in the day in a Truth Social post claiming the “Fake News is at it again.”
While discussing Musk’s Pentagon meeting, Trump raged against the “fake news” media and called the Times a “failing” paper.
“If you read what is out of The New York Times, it’s such a dishonest newspaper, it’s is such garbage. It used to be called all the news that’s fit to print, well it’s all the news that’s not fit to print. They have fake sources or they don’t have sources,” the president said. “I think they make most of it up. But this was a made-up story by The New York Times.
I call it The Failing — it’s a failing newspaper. They shouldn’t do that. They really are the enemy of the people,” said the president. Trump then called out CNN and MSNBC for lagging ratings and predicted the networks would be “turned off.”
“We do need honest journalism. We made such big strides over the last two months, but we just need honest journalism and we just don’t have it,” he said. “When you have an CNN — you have to watch these people every once in a while just to see where they are coming from, and it’s so dishonest. MSNBC is I think probably worse. They are both doing horribly in the ratings. I think they’re going to be turned off. They’re not doing any ratings.”
