God of winemaking, divine madness, communicant between the living and the dead. Also known as Bachus, he is classified as a dying-and-rising god. Followers of the god are said to have practiced Omophagia, the eating of raw flesh.
This was done as a religious practice to commune with the god by consuming the god. Loaves of bread were paraded during his festivities and wine played a central role in the rituals.
Followers of Jesus drink his blood in the form of wine and eat his body in the form of bread during Holy Communion. Jesus’ first miracle was changing water into wine at the wedding in Cana and is closely associated with viniculture in Christianity.
