ARK OF THE COVENANT
Laurence Dermott, an Irish Freemason made this drawing of the Ark in 1781 as part of the Royal Arch; Register of Excellent Masters. The Ark is the most sacred object in Judaism and was created by Moses. King Solomon built the Temple to house the Ark and it was positioned on the Foundation Stone in the Holy of Holies.
God was said to appear between the cherubim as a radiant bright light.
Then the dazzling light of the presence of the God of Israel rose up from the winged creatures, where it had been, and moved to the entrance of the Temple. Ezekiel 9 v 3
Why did Laurence Dermott decide to draw a pentagram above the Ark of the Covenant? Could it be a symbolic representation of the planet Venus and the pattern that is created every eight years in the heavens, the Venus Rose? The light from the planet is the third brightest in the sky after the moon and sun.
Jesus refers to himself as the Bright Morning Star in the Book of Revelations, and the Star of Bethlehem guided the Wise Men from the East to his birthplace.
