Ubuntu (Zulu pronunciation: ùɓúntʼù) -meaning ‘humanity’ in some Bantu languages, such as Zulu) describes a set of closely related Bantu African-origin value systems that emphasize the interconnectedness of individuals with their surrounding societal and physical worlds. “Ubuntu” is sometimes translated as “I am because we are” (also “I am because you are”), or “humanity towards others”.

This philosophy can be expanded even further to include the environment and the myriad of life forms we are lucky enough to share this extraordinary planet with. Humans are not here to dominate the earth, if anything, we are the caretakers. 

Climate denial is the latest casualty in the relentless War on Woke. Just look around you. It has less to do with whatever emissions we are pumping into the atmosphere, and more to do with the actual reality on the ground. 

Over-fishing, habitat destruction, desertification, toxins being released into the soil, the rivers, oceans, and air. Our fellow species are running out of space, out of time, out of options. 

Musk quoted Gad Saad, a frequent guest on Joe Rogan, when he said the following, ‘we’ve got civilisational suicide empathy going on’. 

By not caring for our home, the planet earth, is that not exactly what Musk and his kin are doing? – CIVILIZATIONAL SUICIDE –
