The most damaging teaching found in Christianity revolves around the Virgin births of Mother Mary and Jesus. Instead of focusing on the sacredness of sexuality, sex and pleasure are made out to be dirty, something to be avoided at all costs. Sex is only appropriate when used to procreate, that’s why birth control is taboo. Catholic priests are forbidden from partaking in any form, whether for pleasure or procreation.
This negative attitude stems from the 144 000 virgins mentioned in the Book of Revelations, men whom have not DEFILED themselves with women. The Cathars, Knights Templars, and Essenes, groups often connected to the Jesus and Mary Magdalene bloodline myth, were celibate. Only Sir Galahad was pure enough to discover the Holy Grail in the majority of Grail legends. The reason for his success, PURITY = VIRGINITY.
Now we return to the most damaging teaching, sex played no part in the births of Jesus and his mother. This belief can be traced to the idea that God is a man. There is no Goddess, mother, wife, lover. How will society ever heal the divide between men and women when God is portrayed as a domineering father figure? Ideas that are reinforced by people like Saint Peter and Saint Paul.
